Here’s the recipe for flaky, buttery, and delicious Laccha Paratha.
Ingredients:
2 cups of all-purpose flour (maida)
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 tablespoons of Vashishti A2 Cow Ghee
1/2 cup of water
Extra flour for dusting
Vashishti A2 Cow Ghee for brushing
Method
In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix well.
Add 2 tablespoons of ghee or oil to the mixing bowl and mix it with the flour mixture until it looks like bread crumbs.
Add 1/2 cup of water to the mixing bowl and knead it into a soft and smooth dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for at least 15 minutes.
Divide the dough into equal sized balls, dust them with flour, and roll them out into a thin circle.
Brush the surface of the circle with Vashishti A2 Cow Ghee and sprinkle some flour on it.
Fold the circle into pleats by making small folds on top of each other, just like folding a fan.
Hold one end of the pleated circle and roll it into a spiral shape.
Dust the spiral-shaped dough with flour and roll it out into a circle.
Heat a tawa or griddle on medium heat and place the rolled out paratha on it.
Cook the paratha on both sides until it is golden brown, brushing it with ghee or butter in between.
Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
Serve hot with your favourite curry or pickle.
